Who is eligible to receive a scholarship?
All of our scholarships require that the applicant be a Muslim, permanent resident or citizen of the United States, and have filed the FAFSA for the applicable year. Additional eligibility criteria, as may be required by each scholarship, can be found on the Scholarships page.
Is the scholarship open only to Graduate, Law, or PhD students?
The scholarship is open to all college and graduate level students who wish to study in the many under-represented areas of study by Muslims in general. However, everyone who meets the necessary eligibility criteria is encouraged to apply.
When can a student start applying for the scholarship?
Students can apply as early as May 1st. Applications can be found on the Scholarships page.
What is the deadline to apply for the scholarship?

How many scholarships are awarded annually?
The scholarship will be upwards of $1000 per winner. The final award amount and the number of scholarships awarded will vary from year-to-year, depending on the amount of funds raised and the number of applicants for that year.
How will the award be distributed? Will I be able to use the money for whatever I want?
The scholarship award will preferably be distributed to your University's billing department. In extremely rare circumstances, checks may be paid directly to the winner.
Is the scholarship open only to Muslim students?
Yes. The scholarship is open only to Muslim students who meet the eligibility criteria.
International Internship Stipend
Am I eligible to receive an international internship stipend?
All of our internship stipends require that the applicant be a Muslim, permanent resident or citizen of the United States, and have filed the FAFSA for the applicable year. Additional eligibility criteria, as may be required by each internship scholarship, can be found on the Scholarships page.
What types of internships are covered under the international internship stipend?
Only internships with international organizations or organizations located overseas are covered under this program. Preference is given to those that wish to intern in a Muslim country.
Will I receive the stipend before or after I begin my internship?
The award is disbursed after successful completion, and documentation thereof, of the internship.
What is the amount of the stipend and how many are awarded annually?
The stipend will be upwards of $500 per winner. The final award amount and the number of stipends awarded will vary year-to-year, depending on the amount of funds raised and the number of applicants for that year.
Will I be able to use the money for whatever I want?
Stipends are intended to help defray the cost of airfare, lodging, or other expenses associated with the internship. Winners may use the award accordingly.
Where does D.A.D. get the money to award scholarships?
Each year D.A.D. asks students, their parents, various businesses, and organizations to contribute to our fund. Contributions work on a referral basis and we encourage you to spread the word.
How does D.A.D. pay for its operating expenses?
We rely on contributions made to the administrative fund to run D.A.D. Is the donation tax-deductible?
All donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed under the law.
What will my donation be used for?
Your donation will be used as selected by you on the donation form.
How can I guarantee that my donation is being put to good use?
100% of your donations to the scholarship fund are transferred to students. Funds contributed to the administrative funds are used to pay expenses for operating D.A.D. Our accounts are fully audited by qualified professionals annually, reports of which may be available to you upon request.
What are the benefits of making a large contribution?
There are numerous benefits of a large donation. Individuals or organizations can choose to create a specific scholarship and select the type of eligibility requirements and even the area of study. Contributing a big sum also allows one to create a scholarship in their name or the name of the contributing organization. Of course, all contributions are tax-deductible as well.
What are the benefits of joining the D.A.D. Signature program?
The D.A.D. signature program is our best option, for both donors, and recipients of awards. It allows individuals and organizations to take part in the donation scheme without overburdening their pockets. It also allows members to join together with other donors to make a very big difference with just a small amount of contribution.
I want to encourage more people in my community and/or at my local mosque to donate. What should I do?
You may download copies of the donation form from our website and distribute it amongst your friends, colleagues, and co-workers. You may also direct others to our website or have them contact us directly.
